What are the Alli Diet Pills:
Are they a Scam?
Taking off like a space shuttle, and gathering steam
like a freight train, is the new Alli diet pills. So what are they? And, how do
they work?
Alli are the first weight loss drug to be available over the counter without prescription. Alli is a formulation of the prescription drug Xenical (orlistat).
Alli works by blocking an enzyme in your digestive system that would otherwise help in the absorption of fat. Where that comes into play for those interested in weight loss, is when Alli blocks the absorption of about a quarter of the fat you eat. However is that really a good thing?
Many people who are overweight, because they eat a diet high in fat. Funnily enough, Alli makers instruct to eat a low fat diet while taking this pill. Ah, the irony.
As a bonus, the drug does come with its share of side-effects. They include:
-Oily Stools
-Flatulence
-Vitamin deficiency
However, if you are eating the same amount of food, and doing the
same amount of exercise as you usually would do, you could lose up to 50% more
with Alli. As an example, if you could lose 5kg without Alli, you could lose
7.5kg with it. The question is whether side-effects are worth it? Especially
when a healthy diet, and regular exercise will eventually get you in the same
position, all be it, not as fast.
Is it worth it? In my opinion, no! That counts for little though.
If alli helps you get off your butt and exercise, and go on a healthy diet, then
maybe it is worthwhile for you.
So, if you so decide to turn to the dark side and take alli diet pills, what should your diet look like? Here is a simple diet you can follow incorporating well balanced meals throughout the day: Breakfast: Wholegrain cereal with skim milk Snack: Fruit salad Lunch: Grilled chicken breast with steamed vegetables Snack: Protein Shake with a handful of almonds/pistachios/walnuts Dinner: 250g lean cut steak with a large salad or steamed vegetables Snack: Low fat, low GI yoghurt with a glass of skim milk As you can see, you don't have to starve yourself on a boring diet to
lose fat. It's important to get good nutrition, to fuel your muscles for
exercise, and lean mass building. Not only will you see the kilos drop, but
you will also see the rest of your body become tight and firm.
