One of the other major problems I normally face when trying to help females get in shape is their reluctance to use weights. They always fear that by using weights they would put on a lot of muscle and get bulky or masculine looking.
Women, unlike men do not naturally produce as much testosterone. Testosterone is one of the main hormones responsible for gaining muscle. So it is virtually impossible for women to gain huge amount of muscles like males do.
The image of very muscular women may put a lot of women off from touching weights, but the truth of the matter is most of the hugely muscular women would be using anabolic steroids to build that kind of muscle. Steroids contain an artificial type of testosterone which help women produce testosterone to build muscle.
Women who employ a weight training program naturally and without the use of performance enchancing drugs, are able to achieve the much desired cellulite free, firm and fit body. Don't believe me? Well they say a picture tells a thousand words. Below is fitness model Jennifer Nicole Lee. The left picture is just after giving birth to her second son.

Jennifer employed a weight training program
as described here. As you can see, she did not grow any scary, masculine, muscles. Instead, she was able to tone her body, and maintain her feminine curves.
Here are some of the most common myths of weight training for women:
If you stop weight training your muscles will turn into fat
Muscle CANNOT turn into fat, because they are made up of two different type cells
Weight training makes women masculine and muscular
Women simply do not have enough testosterone naturally to build muscle like men
Women should not lift heavy weights and only stick to light weights
Myth again! The fastest way for women to tone up and get firm is by lifting heavy weight
