Once you have incorporated more plant foods in your diet the next step would be to increase your daily energy expenditure. And the best way to do that is by incorporating cardiovascular training. How much cardio do you need to do to get lean? Well, the answer to that really depends on your body fat levels. I would suggest starting out with three cardio sessions per week. Like I stated in the
cardiovascular training section of this guide, make sure to separate your cardio sessions from your weight-training sessions. You don’t want cardio interfering with your muscle-building. I normally incorporate a cardio session on the weekend as well as two during the week. When I do cardio on the same day as a weight-training day, I will do it around 10 hours later. And remember – short, intense sessions. No stroll in the park on the treadmill watching TV or reading a magazine.
As you continue on with the six-pack abs program, it is vital to make assessments weekly and adjust the amount of cardio you perform. I will explain how to make adjustments to your diet, and cardio plan shortly, in the following sections.
