How Long Should Your Workouts Be?

 

A lot of people do not believe me when I tell them I only work out 30–45 minutes a day. They think I live in the gym.

The fact is that you do not need to spend hours in the gym to build muscle and get in great shape. Training over a 1-hour period can significantly increase the chance of over-training and put your body in a catabolic state. This is when excess muscle protein breakdown occurs and you actually start losing your hard-earned muscles.

You want to try to make the process of building muscle as efficient and simple as possible: maximum results in the minimum amount of time.

When you are in the gym you want to try and utilise the utmost intensity and focus on achieving the results you want. Which time frame do you think is easier to stay more focused and intense, 30 minutes or 90 minutes?

Muscle building and getting into shape is not rocket science; don’t make it be harder than it has to be.
