Choosing an Exercise for Cardio

When choosing an exercise, choose something that is going to push you out of your comfort zone. I like to have some sort of measurement of either distance travelled or calories burnt. Most exercise equipment in the gym or home will have this feature in place. This allows you to try and always strive to beat the distance and calories burnt when doing the same exercise. This is a very important step as it will help you raise the intensity level every time.

Select a time between 15 and 20 minutes and stick to it each time you do that exercise. That way you can compare your results all the time on what you achieved through your previous effort. If you are not beating your previous distance travelled or calories burnt on a regular basis then you are not pushing yourself hard enough.

If you would prefer to go outdoors and do sprints at a local park or go for a fast bike ride that is fine also. Just try and use some sort of measurement, for example, how far you travelled on the bike over 15 minutes. The next time you go for a bike ride, make sure you strive to go further in the 15-minutes time frame. If you are not pushing yourself when exercising, your body will adjust to the intensity and you will not be getting the maximum results from your effort.

Any exercise you choose is fine – just make sure you are always striving to push yourself out of your comfort zone if you want to see results fast.
